Recall the 60-year old Ghanaian woman, Elizabeth Yamoah, who made history by becoming the oldest student to sit for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)?
Her result has surfaced online as thousands of other students also rush to internet cafés to check their results shortly after the West African Examination Council (WAEC) released the 2020 results last week.
For her sheer determination to gain formal education and deepen the popular saying that education has no end, Madam Elizabeth gained international recognition after she wrote the BECE with thousands of other Ghanaian students, some of whom could easily pass for her grandchildren.
Back in October, she told Ohemaa Woyeje on Angel FM the motivation behind her decision to go back to school again while praising Nana Akufo Addo’s FREE SHS which became the catalyst that spurred her on.
She had said;
“I could not have gotten to where I am now but with the help of Nana Addo’s free education, I have been able to catch up and still want to continue with my education.”
Well, since she has become an internet sensation, we guess people will be interested in how she fared in the BECE so we have found the online version of her result slip.
